Overview
Maldo is a mobile application designed specifically for animal-focused donations. While most donation platforms today cater predominantly to human needs, Maldo was born from the belief that animals, too, deserve care and attention. The application creates a dedicated space for donors and fundraisers to contribute to the welfare of animals in need.

Approach
We adopted the Design Thinking methodology to guide our process — starting from empathizing with user pain points, defining the problem, ideating solutions, prototyping, and finally testing the product.
Target users
Donors who want to contribute financially or with goods. Fundraisers who are raising support for animals in need.
Design explorations
Fundraising campaigns
Allows users to create donation campaigns for animals. Users can input personal data, animal conditions, donation targets, and campaign titles.
Monetary donations
Enables users to donate any amount to campaigns. Users can view detailed campaign descriptions, engage in discussion forums, track animal progress, and ensure financial transparency to prevent fraud.
Goods donation
Offers a channel for users to donate physical goods. Donors can view the location of fundraisers and contact them before delivering the items.
Design explorations
Animal helper services
Supports pet owners with services such as grooming, pet sitting, pet hotels, and transport. This feature encourages repeat app usage and serves as an operational funding strategy since the app takes no commission from fundraising.
Monthly donations
Enables users to contribute a fixed monthly amount to animals in long-term need. Donation amounts can be customized.
Financial transparency
Displays how donation funds are used in the treatment and care of animals. It ensures accountability from fundraisers to their donors.
Design explorations
Animal updates
Provides regular updates on the animal’s condition, giving donors peace of mind that their contributions are used for the intended purpose.
Connect campaigns
Lets fundraisers request to merge their campaigns with others for more exposure, subject to approval.

A personal dashboard for users to track their donation history, view how funds were used, and check animal recovery progress.
